Director of Fundraising

Elsie Taylor-Young was born in Montreal Quebec one of eleven children, she moved to Toronto where she met and married her best friend Steven Young, between them they have four children. Elsie works as a Corporate Account Manager at Shumka Craig & Moore. She serves on the Board of Governors for Yee Hong as well as co-chairs with her dear friends Helena O'Connor Fong and Christine Wong on the Unconditional Love Quilt. She also supports the Bob Rumble School for the deaf as well as Smile China.

Elsie is no stranger to poverty. Having been raised in a low income family she had to fight for everything she wanted, working hard to accomplish everything she has achieved on her own with little help. Elsie did not let the restraints of poverty bind her but overcame them to achieve her goals. Having experienced this first hand, Elsie knows the difficulties of growing up impoverished and that to escape this in this present day our youth need more help than she received. This has instilled in Elsie a passion to help the needy in any way she can. Her volunteer work is not only limited to children but extends to the elderly, handicapped and all those in need.
