Ministry Regulations Generate New Technology Program for Ontario Doctors
Integrated Program Tailored To Meet Government Deadline
Richmond Hill, ON., September 14, 1998.
A&L Computer Software Ltd., the largest provider of medical
software in Ontario is launching a new, integrated technology
program today in Sault Ste. Marie for Ontario doctors that combines
new software, advanced technology solutions and personalized,
multiservice support systems. The program is tailored to give
Ontario doctors the precise technology solutions they required
to meet Ministry of Health electronic billing requirements by
March 19, 1999 and to be Year 2000 compliant. A&L’s
advanced software will be introduced to Ontario doctors at the
first of over 60 Practice Management seminars organized by the
Ontario Medical Association, The Professional Management seminars
give physicians direct access to business and technology professionals
and help doctors plan for the integration of technology with minimal
office disruptions. Approximately 16,000 practicing doctors in
Ontario are required to update or replace their software programs
and technology to be Year 2000 compliant. “A&L has worked
closely with the Ontario Medical Association, medical laboratories
and the Ontario Ministry of Health to ensure that software applications
meet the specific needs of Ontario practitioners,” said

includes electronic billing, patient scheduling, e-mail and laboratory
requisition and pharmacy prescription transmission capabilities
and Year 2000 compliance.” A&L’s software is used
by more than 4,600 medical practitioners and in 75 percent of
